Style & Splendour at The Regency Tavern in Brighton

With over 250 years of history, and enough pink and gold glitz to make a gay magpie keel over, The Regency Tavern is of course decorated according to the Regency style in all its splendour! Plush grand chaise lounges, gilded mirrors, and ornate gold furnishings add a real atmosphere of warmth and refinement.

A small stage is the centrepiece, where singers and drag queens hold court with a view of most of the pub. Locals and tourists alike gather every Saturday for some of Brighton’s most esteemed cabaret acts. Evenings at The Regency Tavern are packed full of extravagant and top-drawer drag queens crooning musical theatre favourites, 80s hits, and a growing number of other musical genres!

The Regency Tavern is known for its roast dinners and is regularly voted the best roast in Brighton! Recently, the kitchen has been leased to a roast dinner franchise – Roasts By Sharon – and has sold out of roasts every Sunday since! It’s worth booking ahead of time on a Sunday as tables get snatched up fast. And remember to bring your pooches for a doggy roast!

Every week there’s a different guest roast, with pigs-in-blankets and cauliflower cheese available as sides. Exquisite roasted potatoes, crisped yet fluffy Yorkshire puddings, and stuffing to die for. Absolutely fabulous.

The Wednesday quiz nights now also involve various tapas dishes. The quiz starts at 8pm, prizes are available with the potential to win a cash jackpot, which is rolled over to the next week if no one wins.
